Quantum Mechanics Beginner's Textbooks

by All That Guy 2023. 7. 17.

The beginner's Quantum Mechanics textbooks. It is highly recommended to read all of them.

Before dig into the subject, these are must.

- Calculus of Single Variable and Calculus of Several Variables
- Ordinary Differential Equations and Partial Differential Equations
- Linear Algebra

Without much background of physics, one can start from here. Still Above math prerequisite should be satisfied beforehand.

- David Griffiths, Introduction to Quantum Mechanics.

- Ramamurti Shankar, Principles of Quantum Mechanics.
- Robert Eisberg, Robert Resnick, Quantum Physics of Atoms, Molecules, Solids, Nuclei, and Particles.
- Richard Liboff, Introductory Quantum Mechanics.
- Stephen Gasiorowicz, Quantum Physics.

Read concurrently above five books is beneficial.

Every text started from this, terse and uneasy for a first timer, though.

- Paul Dirac, The Principles of Quantum Mechanics

Joyful reading.

- Richard Feynman, The Feynman Lectures on Physics, especially Vol. III.

It is highly recommended to read basic physics of mechanics, electromagnetism, waves, statistical physics, etc., which covers most of undergraduate physics curriculum.

Enjoy reading!
